Injuries have plagued the 29-year-old Pryor’s rise in the pros. Recent short-lived stints withe the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets resulted in a total of 16 receptions for 252 yards and two touchdowns.
He has been unable to recapture his productivity of the 2016 season.
John DeFilippo is the Jaguars’ offensive coordinator and coached Pryor in Cleveland when the quarterback-turned-wideout had a breakout season with 77 catches for 1,007 yards and four touchdowns. The former Ohio State star later signed with the Washington Redskins but missed most of that year with an injury.
Pryor played 15 games at quarterback over three seasons with the Oakland Raiders from 2011-13. He had a 93-yard scoring burst against the Steelers, the longest touchdown run by a quarterback in NFL history.
