Penguins trade forward Anthony Beauvillier to Capitals
The Pittsburgh Penguins have traded forward Anthony Beauvillier to the Washington Capitals in exchange for a second-round selection in the 2025 NHL Draft.
Beauvillier (5-foot-11, 180 pounds) joined the Penguins as an unrestricted free agent this past offseason, signing a one-year contract worth $1.25 million.
Appearing in 63 games this season, the left-handed Beauvillier has scored 20 points (13 goals, seven assists) while averaging 13:00 of ice time per contest.
Beauvillier, 27, is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent July 1.
In adding the second-round selection, the Penguins now possess 12 picks in this year’s draft and 28 overall picks over the next three drafts.
Following this trade, the Penguins have 48 NHL contracts for the current season, two short of the league’s limit of 50. According to Puckpedia, the Penguins now have $12,262,187 of salary cap space.
