Seton Hill is one of 16 schools that competes in the PSAC in football.

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference will make an announcement Wednesday morning canceling its fall sports seasons and delaying the start of the winter season, according to multiple reports Tuesday night.

The Reading Eagle reported sports will be put on hold until Dec. 31 because of coronavirus concerns.

The PSAC is an 18-team league that includes 17 schools in Pennsylvania and one, Shepherd College, in West Virginia that compete at the NCAA Division II level. Western Pennsylvania members include Seton Hill, Cal (Pa.), IUP, Slippery Rock, Clarion, Edinboro, Gannon, Mercyhurst and Pitt-Johnstown.

The conference sponsors football, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, field hockey and women’s volleyball in the fall. Winter sports include basketball, wrestling, swimming and indoor track.

Two major conferences, the Ivy League and Patriot League, have announced the cancellation of their fall sports seasons in recent days. They have not ruled out traditional fall sports being played in the spring.
