Riverhounds play to scoreless draw in Detroit
Goalkeeper Eric Dick recorded his second straight shutout to lead the Pittsburgh Riverhounds to a scoreless draw with Detroit FC on the road Wednesday night.
Dick made two saves to help the Riverhounds extend their unbeaten streak to five games (3-0-2). They’ve allowed a total of two goals during the stretch.
The Riverhounds (6-9-8) are tied for ninth place in the USL Championship’s Eastern Conference, three points behind Rhode Island in the race for the eighth and final playoff spot. Detroit FC (8-7-6) moved into a sixth-place tie with Loudoun United.
Dick’s shutout came on the heels of an eight-save effort in a 1-0 victory at Sacramento on Saturday night. Most dramatically, he stopped a Ryan Williams shot from the top of the box in the final minute of stoppage time Wednesday.
The Riverhounds will return home to host San Antonio FC at 7 p.m. Saturday at Highmark Stadium.
