Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC President Vic Gregovits joined the team in April 2021.

The Pittsburgh Riverhounds announced Wednesday that club president Vic Gregovits will step down from his front office position this week.

Gregovits joined the Riverhounds in April 2021 and helped the team return to full operations after the covid pandemic-affected 2020 season.

He helped fans return to Highmark Stadium with several new experiences such as the Tailgate Zone in the West Lot and the on-field I.C. Light Corner Kick Suite.

He also fronted the efforts to add Sodexo Live! as the official hospitality partner of both the Riverhounds and Highmark Stadium.

Gregovits is set to become the new Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Resort and Entertainment Company in Canton, Ohio.

“We want to thank Vic for his time leading the organization,” Riverhounds owner Tuffy Shallenberger said.

“The growth we have had over the last year in both ticket sales and business partnerships is a reflection of his hard work, and he has helped put the Riverhounds in a position to continue growing for years to come.”

Gregovits also helped Highmark Stadium become the home for Pitt’s women’s lacrosse team and the host of the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival.

He also coordinated efforts to have Highmark hold the WPIAL soccer championships with a multi-year agreement.

Shallenberger and Gregovits are leading efforts to find the next club president.

The Riverhounds return to action at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Charleston Battery.
