Riverhounds rally for draw on the road at Birmingham
The Pittsburgh Riverhounds picked up star goalkeeper Eric Dick after a rare error, scoring a second-half goal to pull out a 1-1 road draw with Birmingham Legion FC on Saturday night.
Ronaldo Damus scored in the 28th minute when Dick bobbled his long range shot to give Birmingham (4-9-8) a 1-0 lead.
The Riverhounds (7-7-7) answered in the 66th minute when Junior Etou stole a ball in the midfield and passed to Chase Boone, whose long cross from the left side found Augi Williams at the far post. Williams chested the ball down and roofed a shot for his 81st regular-season goal in the USL Championship, tying him for second in league history with Louisville’s Cameron Lancaster and former Hounds forward Neco Brett.
The Riverhounds are 4-1-5 in their last 10 league matches and are tied with Detroit City FC for fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings with 28 points.
The Hounds will continue their three-match road trip next Saturday when they visit the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
