The Pittsburgh Riverhounds ran their unbeaten streak to nine games Saturday night at Highmark Stadium, though they didn’t gain much ground in the USL Eastern Conference standings.

Guillaume Vacter scored on a header in the 67th minute as the Riverhounds erased a one-goal deficit and played Orange County SC to a 1-1 draw.

The Riverhounds (7-6-6) are 4-0-5 in their last nine games but remain in fifth place in the conference, one point behind fourth-place Loudoun United.

Orange County (7-7-3) took a 1-0 lead in the 40th minute when Stephen Kelly took a free kick from outside the right side of the 18-yard box and Ethan Zubak charged in toward the far post and headed it in to score for the third straight game.

The Riverhounds answered in the second half when a Robbie Mertz corner kick took a deflection off the head of Sean Suber in the center of the 6-yard box to Vacter at the far post for a header. It was the first pro goal for Vacter, a rookie defender out of UConn.

The Riverhounds stay home to host the Charleston Battery at 7 p.m. next Saturday at Highmark Stadium.
