The Pittsburgh Riverhounds took care of business during a restarted match Wednesday night in Miami, holding on for a 1-0 victory to stay alive in the race for second place in the USL Championship’s Atlantic Division.

The game began Oct. 16 and originally went to a scoreless draw. The USL ruled, however, that an egregious referee’s error occured in the 66th minute and ordered play to resume in the 67th minute Wednesday night with the Riverhounds ahead by a 1-0 score.

Referees incorrectly gave the Riverhounds a corner kick on a play that should have resulted in an own goal by Miami defender Janos Lobe during the Oct. 16 meeting.

With the win, the Riverhounds will have a chance on the last day of the regular season Saturday to move into second place and earn a home game in the first round of the playoffs.

The Riverhounds, who are 17-8-6 (57 points), will host Hartford at 7 p.m. Saturday at Highmark Stadium. Charlotte (18-9-4, 58 points) will visit Austin Bold.

The Riverhounds could claim second place with a win and a Charlotte loss or tie.
