Robert Morris is still finishing up its 2021 spring football season, but its fall schedule is one step closer to being complete after the Colonials announced three nonconference opponents Friday.

Before playing eight Big South opponents between Oct. 2 and Nov. 20, the Colonials will kick off their 2021 fall season with three nonconference matchups. The Colonials will play at Dayton (Sept. 4) and Central Michigan (Sept. 11). Robert Morris will host Howard for the first matchup between the two programs Sept. 25 at Joe Walton Stadium.

The Colonials’ matchup with Dayton will be a part of the program’s longest nonconference rivalry as they’ll meet for the 23rd time. The Flyers have dominated the rivalry in recent years and won the last meeting between the two schools, 34-31 on Sept. 14, 2019.

Central Michigan will be Robert Morris’ second NCAA Football Subdivision (FBS) opponent in school history. It faced Mid-American Conference opponent Buffalo in 2019.

Robert Morris’ nonconference schedule will be followed by eight Big South matchups, which will be announced at a later date.
