Robert Morris gets 6-9 forward Tyson Brown's signature on letter of intent
Robert Morris, the defending Northeast Conference champion, signed 6-foot-9 forward Tyson Brown to a national letter of intent Friday, giving the Colonials four committed members for its class of 2021.
Brown, who played last season at Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, Va., averaged 13.7 points and 8.8 rebounds while shooting 51.3% from the field.
The highlight of Brown’s season was a 40-point, 14-rebound effort against Huntingdon Prep. He also recorded 17 rebounds, nine points and five assists against Fork Union.
Brown joins Robert Morris’ three other ‘21 recruits: guards Enoch Cheeks, Kam Farris and Trayden Williams.
“We’re excited to add Tyson Brown to our latest recruiting class,” coach Andy Toole said. “He’s a long, athletic forward that is extremely active around the basket and helps balance out our class with the signing of three guards in November.”
Starters Dante Treacy, Jon Williams and A.J. Bramah will return next season to a Robert Morris team that finished 20-14, 13-5 in the conference.
