Robert Morris University women’s basketball coach Charlie Buscaglia looks on as men’s basketball coach Andy Toole speaks to the media about RMU moving to the Horizon League Monday, June 15, 2020 at UPMC Events Center.

Robert Morris men’s basketball announced Thursday the signing of forward Patrick Suemnick.

Suemnick, who made a verbal commitment in June, averaged 19 points and 10.7 rebounds as a senior in helping Denmark High School near Green Bay reach the state semifinals. Suemnick (6-8, 225) attended Don Bosco Institute in Indiana last season and averaged 14.7 points and 7.3 rebounds.

“We’re excited to add Patrick to our 2020 recruiting class,” RMU coach Andy Toole said in a statement. “He brings a lot of energy to the court and also impressed with his work ethic, and as a staff we felt he would be a great addition to our frontcourt. We’re looking forward to seeing how he develops over the course of his career.”

Suemnick is the sixth member of Robert Morris’ 2020 recruiting class, joining guards Enoch Cheeks, Kam Farris and Trayden Williams and forwards Tyson Brown and Kahliel Spear, who transferred from Bucknell and will sit out the upcoming season.

Robert Morris finished 20-15 and earned an automatic NCAA Tournament berth last season. The Colonials’ season was halted by the coronavirus pandemic after they claimed the NEC Tournament title. They will compete in the Horizon League starting with the 2020-21 season.
