Hockey teams at Robert Morris (men’s and women’s), Mercyhurst (men’s and women’s) and Penn State (women’s) will be part of a new conference starting with the 2024-25 season.

The Atlantic Hockey and College Hockey America conferences have merged to form Atlantic Hockey America. That union was announced Tuesday.

Robert Morris’ and Mercyhurst’s men’s teams previously competed in the Atlantic Hockey Association conference while the women’s teams of Robert Morris, Mercyhurst and Penn State were members of the College Hockey America conference.

The two conferences “have shared administrative operations since 2010 but have competed as separate entities until today” according to a release from the newly formed Atlantic Hockey America.

The men’s league will still consist of 11 teams, including Air Force, American International, Army West Point, Bentley, Canisius, Holy Cross, Mercyhurst, Niagara, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Robert Morris and Sacred Heart.

On the women’s side, six incumbent schools — Lindenwood, Mercyhurst, Penn State, RIT, Robert Morris and Syracuse — will be joined by Delaware in 2025-26.
