Roush wins Falling Rock Classic; Hansberry, Severns win match play titles

West Virginian Ty Roush posted an even par during the second round Tuesday at Nemacolin Woodland Resort’s Mystic Rock to win the Falling Rock Classic.

Roush finished with an even par 144.

He won by two strokes over John Aber, Easton Renwick and first round leader Devin Gee of Oakmont Country Club. Gee shot a 5-over 77 after shooting a 3-under 69 on Monday on Shepherd’s Rock.

Talon Kriebel, Dennis Munko and Eddie Perrino tied for fifth at 148, and Brett Carmen and Alex Aulerich tied for eighth at 149.

Carmen Costa won the Senior Division, edging Dave Anderson by a shot.

Hansberry, Severns win WPGA match titles

Griffin Hansberry and Sophia Severns were seeded No. 2 in their match play events, but both upset the No. 1 seeds.

Hansberry won the 51st C.R. Miller Match Play title Tuesday at Indiana Country Club by defeating Alex Talmadge, 3 and 2, in the semifinals and then Michael Quallich, 2-up, in the finals.

Quallich defeated Jack Sacriponte, 2 and 1, in the semifinals.

In the sixth Girls Match Play, Severns defeated Ava Calandra, 2 and 1, in the semifinals and then Mya Morgan, 3 and 1, in the finals.

Morgan defeated Adalena Robb in the semifinals.
