Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks posted a video to social media early Tuesday, April 16, 2019, saying, ‘Seattle, we got a deal,’ shortly after a reported midnight deadline for the Seahawks and their star quarterback to agree on a contract extension. Wilson’s current $87.6 million, four-year deal was signed at the beginning of training camp in 2015 and was set to expire after next season.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and his wife, singer Ciara, announced Wilson’s signing of a new contract with the team in the most intimate of places — in bed.

Wilson’s extension with the Seahawks, a four-year, $140 million deal with $65 million guaranteed, makes him the highest paid player in the NFL.

The couple’s moment was caught on Monday in a late-night Instagram post.

Donned in three gold chains, a shirtless Wilson, while speaking in a nighttime Barry White-esque voice made the announcement, “Hey Seattle, we got a deal.”

A bubbly and beaming Ciara replies, “Go Hawks.”

“I’ll see y’all in the morning,” Wilson assures his followers.

The relieved Ciara says, “Finally we can go to sleep,” while giggling.

“See y’all tomorrow,” Wilson repeats.

Wilson and Ciara were married in 2016.
