Saint Vincent adding men's volleyball
Saint Vincent College announced Monday the school will sponsor a men’s volleyball team.
The school plans to begin competing at the NCAA Division III level in 2019-20.
The school is seeking a coach and plans to have someone in place this month.
The men’s volleyball program will become the 24th varsity sport Saint Vincent sponsors.
“Western Pennsylvania, and Westmoreland County in particular, has some very strong high school volleyball programs,” said Rev. Myron Kirsch, Saint Vincent athletic director, in a release. “There has been a growing interest in the sport on our campus as well, and we believe that we can build a strong program here at Saint Vincent.”
The men’s programs include baseball, basketball, football, golf, cross country, bowling, track (indoor and outdoor), lacrosse, soccer, swimming and tennis.
