Saint Vincent’s Alona Sleith set the single-season school record for home runs last season.

After proving its worth as the top team in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference, Saint Vincent softball is set for the next step.

The Bearcats (29-14), who earned an automatic bid by winning their second PAC title, will open the NCAA Division III Tournament Friday against host DePauw (31-12) in Greencastle, Ind.

DePauw just won its third straight North Coast Athletic Conference title.

Other teams playing at Saint Vincent’s site include Maryville (28-9) and Trine (30-6).
