Pitt basketball lost another player Friday, but this one was not unexpected.

Guard Onyebuchi Ezeakudo, who is on schedule to graduate in May with a degree in bioengineering, has decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal in an attempt to continue his playing career. Ezeakudo, who is also evaluating job and educational options, was honored by the university at Senior Night late in the season.

After starting his career as a walk-on, he earned a scholarship during the current academic semester and averaged 2.1 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 18.7 minutes per game, with 20 steals. He started 12 of Pitt’s 32 games and shot 37.5% (18 of 48) from beyond the 3-point arc. Overall in four seasons, he compiled 80 points, 63 rebounds, 38 assists and 28 steals in 56 games (13 starts).

Previously this week, Pitt reserve forwards Noah Collier and Chris Payton announced plans to enter the portal, helping to give coach Jeff Capel room to reconstruct his roster.
