Seton Hill baseball players among NCAA Division II’s Top 40 prospects

Four junior members of the Seton Hill baseball team were named to the Perfect Game NCAA Division II Top 40 prospects list.

Outfielder Craig Lewis was ranked No. 2, pitcher Kenny Wells was ranked ninth, pitcher Patrick Monteverde (Fox Chapel) was 15th and pitcher Cole Masik was 27th.

Lewis played in only 14 games because of an injury last season. He hit .391 and had 18 hits, including six doubles.

Wells was 2-3 in relief with five saves. Monteverde started 14 games and was 4-3 with a 2.92 earned run average. Masik transferred to Seton Hill from LSU-Shreveport.

Seton Hill was not ranked among the Top 25 teams despite having four players ranked high.

Two teams from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference were — Mercyhurst was ranked sixth and Bloomsburg was 25th.

Seton Hill was picked fifth in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Atlantic Regional preseason poll. The Griffins have won consecutive PSAC titles and were the Atlantic Regional runner-up in 2018.
