Mt. Lebanon native Neal Shipley and Greensburg native Mark Goetz are in contention at the Korn Ferry Tour NV5 Invitational after the completion of two rounds at The Glen Club in the Chicago suburb of Glenview.

Shipley is tied for 11th at 11-under-par after rounds of 64 on Thursday and 67 on Friday. He had eight birdies and a bogey during Round 1 and followed with seven more birdies, a bogey and double bogey in Round 2.

Goetz finished his first round Thursday in second place at 8-under 64. But he shot an even-par 71 in Round 2, which included a double bogey on No. 18, his final hole of the day, and remained at 8-under.

Goetz had four birdies and two bogeys to go along with the double bogey in Round 2.

He had six birdies, and he eagled No. 15 in Round 1. He is tied for 39th.

The leaders at 14-under are Johnny Keefer and Jeffrey Kang.

Shipley is looking for a third win on the Korn Ferry Tour this season to earn a “battlefield promotion” and his PGA Tour card.

Pa. Open qualifier

Hannastown Golf Club hosted the Pennsylvania Open west qualifier Thursday, and 16 golfers earned spots in the final pairings.

The event was moved to July 24 because of flooding at Hannastown on July 17.

Murrysville’s Nolan Schilling was the medalist, shooting a 5-under 65. Harrison City’s Alex Turowski was second with a 3-under 67, and Anthony DePietress was third at 68.

The 109th Pa. Open is Aug. 11-13 at Llanerch Country Club in Havertown.

Others to qualify were Justin Griffith, Austin Malley, Jack Urban, Michael Quallich, Connor McKenzie, Anthony DeGol, Jimmy Meyers, Carter Pitcairn, Colton Lusk, Samuel Brourman, Jon Pratkanis, Jeffrey Schmigel and Anthony Santilli.
