Six Seton Hill wrestlers are academic all-Americans

Seton Hill wrestling team had six wrestlers named 2018-19 NCAA Division II Scholar All-Americans.

They were Billy Bowlen, Luke Ewing (Greensburg Salem), John Fulmer, Damon Greenwald (Burrell), Sean Hoover and Ryan Ressler.

Seton Hill wrestling team finished 18th in the country with an overall GPA of 3.099.

Maryville University led the standings with a 3.556 GPA and LIU Post University was second with a 3.428 GPA.

Those ranked individually included 212 student-athletes from 41 institutions.

To be eligible for the honor a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale, with that benchmark at 3.25 for those who qualified for the 2019 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships and 3.0 for those who earned All-American status for the 2019 season.

The athlete must also have competed in a minimum of six competitions.
