SportsNet Pittsburgh adds 3 former players, new sideline reporter to Pirates broadcasts
BRADENTON, Fla. — SportsNet Pittsburgh announced its Pirates broadcast team, which includes new faces in the stands and the studio.
Greg Brown and Joe Block return on play by play, with Bob Walk, John Wehner, Kevin Young, Matt Capps and Neil Walker serving as color analysts.
Latrobe native Hannah Mears replaces Robby Incmikoski as the sideline reporter. A Penn State graduate, Mears has worked for the Big Ten Network, on air and as a producer for KDKA-TV and in freelance for the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates.
Rob King returns as the studio host, with former Pirates players Steven Brault, Jordy Mercer and Alex Presley joining Michael McKenry, Capps, Walker and Young as studio analysts for pre- and postgame shows. Dan Potash and Hailey Hunter also will host and serve as sideline reporters during the season.
Brault, 31, spent seven seasons as a left-handed pitcher in the majors, including six with the Pirates. He was 12-18 with a 4.77 ERA, throwing a complete-game victory over St. Louis on Sept. 17, 2020.
Mercer, 37, played 10 seasons in the majors, including seven as a shortstop for the Pirates. He had a career .256/.315/.386 slash line and played on the three consecutive playoff teams from 2013-15.
Presley, 38, was an outfielder who batted .263/.306.388 in eight major league seasons. He played for the Pirates from 2010-13.
