As golf coaches at St. Francis (Pa.), Lisa Warrilow and Derek Tyson usually are the ones giving instruction, organizing practices, setting lineups and parading around in carts at college tournaments.

But on July 22, they will be the players to watch.

Warrilow, the women’s coach, and Tyson, who leads the men, will pair up for a golf “marathon” for a charitable cause at Immergrun Golf Course in Loretto.

They will tee off after sunrise and attempt to play as many holes as they can before dark.

They will be raising money for mental health awareness in honor of former Red Flash golfer Alivia Juliana, who died by suicide in 2019.

Juliana, who was from Malvern, once took part in a similar event, playing 201 holes in a row in one day. The coaches hope to match that number.

“Liv was a very community- and charity-minded individual,” Warrilow said in a news release. “She put others before herself and was always working on ways to raise funds and awareness for the causes that meant so much to her. As a way to continue her legacy, Derek and I will look to follow in her footsteps … and remove the stigma that Liv fought against so bravely.”

Proceeds will go to the Saint Francis University Active Minds Chapter and the Alivia Juliana Fund.

Donations are being accepted now. To donate, contact Immergrun Golf Course or make a contribution at the event.

Contact Lisa Warrilow at 814-471-9650 or lwarrilow@francis.edu.
