Editor’s note: From now until reporting day to training camp at Saint Vincent College, TribLive is running through the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 90-man roster, looking at each player and assessing his outlook for the 2025 season. The breakdown will run in alphabetical order with at least two players each day between June 12 and July 23. Contract data courtesy spotrac.com.

G NICK BROEKER

Experience/age: third season, 24 years old

Contract status: $1.03 million cap hit, will be restricted free agent in 2026

The past: Broeker spent the past two seasons as a backup with the Houston Texans, appearing in nine games last season and three in 2023. He was a seventh-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in 2023 but did not make the roster in the preseason. The Texans were assigned Broeker on a waiver claim.

Broeker attended Ole Miss and appeared in 48 games in four seasons. He made 23 starts at left tackle and 13 at left guard after being moved inside.

2025 outlook: The Steelers signed Broeker to a one-year contract on May 25, less than two weeks after he was released by the Texans. He is 6-foot-5, 305 pounds and could provide depth along the interior. Isaac Seumalo is the incumbent at left guard, and Mason McCormick will enter his first full season as a starter on the right side. Broeker, if he makes the roster in training camp, could provide depth at those positions, and he could play tackle in a pinch.

Broeker’s competition for a backup spot on the interior is veteran Max Scharping and rookie Aiden Williams, among others.
