The Pittsburgh Steelers will have another starter eligible to play Monday against Washington. Defensive end Stephon Tuitt was activated Saturday from the reserve/covid-19 list.

Tuitt was placed on the list Nov. 27, and he missed the Steelers’ 19-14 victory against the Baltimore Ravens.

Tuitt is having his best NFL season. Before he was placed on the reserve/covid list, he had a career-high seven sacks, which ranked third on the team. He was second among Steelers players with 18 quarterback hits. He also forced two fumbles.

Tuitt’s pass-rushing abilities will help make up for the loss of Bud Dupree, who suffered a season-ending torn ACL in the fourth quarter Wednesday against Baltimore. Dupree ranked second on the team with eight sacks.

The Steelers still have three players on the reserve/covid-19 list: starting running back James Conner, center Maurkice Pouncey and backup tackle Jerald Hawkins.

Chris Wormley started in Tuitt’s place against the Ravens, recorded two tackles and played 25 snaps.
