Steelers add 4 players, including 3 from XFL, to offseason roster
The Pittsburgh Steelers added four players to their offseason roster Thursday, including three with experience in the recently disbanded XFL.
Signed to one-year contracts were free agents Breon Borders, Anthony Coyle, John Keenoy and Arrion Springs.
Borders and Springs are defensive backs, Coyle is a tackle and Keenoy is a center.
Coyle was with the New York Guardians of the XFL. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Houston Texans in 2018 and also spent time with the Atlanta Falcons on their practice squad. He played collegiately at Fordham.
Keenoy was with the Dallas Renegades until the XFL folded. He signed with the Minnesota Vikings following a tryout after the 2019 NFL Draft. He was a three-year starter at Western Michigan.
Springs played with the Los Angeles Wildcats. He has spent time on the practice squads with the Kansas City Chiefs, Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints, Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers. In college, he attended Oregon.
Borders is the only player signed Thursday without XFL experience. He was on the Washington Redskins roster until he was waived in March. The former Duke player has appeared in 13 NFL games. His tour of the NFL also has included stops in Oakland, Buffalo, Houston and Jacksonville.
