The Kansas City Chiefs’ Danny Isidora (65) and others stand along the sideline during the playing of the national anthem before an NFL football game against the New York Jets on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020, in Kansas City, Mo.

Faced with a shortage of available bodies on the offensive line, the Pittsburgh Steelers signed guard Danny Isidora from the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad Tuesday.

Isidora will be added to the 53-man roster once he passes covid-19 protocols, which typically take five days. That means Isidora could be available when the Steelers play at the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night.

The Steelers placed starting left guard Matt Feiler on injured reserve Monday with a pectoral injury. Backup guard Kevin Dotson also exited the Steelers’ 26-15 loss at Buffalo with a shoulder injury, and his availability is unknown for the Bengals game.

Isidora, 26, was a fifth-round draft choice of the Minnesota Vikings 2017. He was traded to the Miami Dolphins in 2019 and spent most of the season on injured reserve.

Isidora joined the Chiefs’ practice squad in September, but he was elevated to the active roster for games against the Denver Broncos and New York Jets in Weeks 7-8.

Isidora has made six career starts in 25 NFL appearances.
