New York Jets’ Denzel Mims participates in a drill at the NFL football team’s training facility in Florham Park, N.J., Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

Former second-round draft pick Denzel Mims was one of two players the Pittsburgh Steelers signed to their practice squad Tuesday.

Mims, a 6-foot-3, 207-pound wide receiver, and tackle Obinna Eze were added to the practice squad, while the Steelers released running back Greg Bell and wide receivers Jalen Camp and Jacob Copeland.

Mims was the No. 59 overall player taken in 2020 by the New York Jets. He never reached his potential in New York, catching just 42 passes for 676 yards and no touchdowns in three seasons.

The Jets traded Mims to the Detroit Lions, and he was waived in training camp after sustaining a calf injury.

Eze is a first-year player who spent last season with the Lions on their practice squad. He was waived in August.
