Steelers add former Bears practice squad TE Dax Raymond
The Pittsburgh Steelers will take a fifth tight end to training camp after all.
After waiving former British rugby player Christian Scotland-Williamson on Monday, the Steelers added free agent tight end Dax Raymond.
Raymond announced on his Twitter account Monday that he was joining the Steelers.
I’m officially a Steeler! Pumped about this opportunity!

Raymond, an undrafted free agent from Utah State in 2019, spent training camp last year with the Chicago Bears and spent part of the season on their practice squad. Raymond signed a futures contract with the Bears in January, but he was waived in April.
In 27 games at Utah State, Raymond caught 72 passes for 873 yards and three touchdowns.
Raymond, who is 6-foot-4, 245 pounds, rounds out a position group that includes veterans Eric Ebron and Vance McDonald, plus second-year player Zach Gentry and undrafted free agent Kevin Rader.
The Steelers had the worst tight end production in the NFL last season.
