Steelers add long snapper Tucker Addington to offseason roster
Christian Kuntz will have competition in training camp at long snapper.
The Pittsburgh Steelers like to have at least two players for every position on the 90-man camp roster, and they added a second long snapper Wednesday when they signed Tucker Addington to a one-year contract.
Addington signed with the Steelers after being released by the Houston Texans earlier this month. Addington had signed a reserve/futures contract with the team in January.
Addington, who turns 28 next month, has been on the rosters of the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, Jacksonville Jaguars, Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys. He has 10 games of NFL experience from 2022-24. He did not appear in any games last season when he was on the practice squad for three teams.
Kuntz, a Chartiers Valley grad, is entering his fifth season with the Steelers and is signed through 2026.
