Shown while playing in a preseason game for the Philadelphia Eagles last season, tight end Kevin Foelsch re-signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday. Foelsch spent seven prior days of this training camp with the Steelers.

Six days after waiving him and 13 days after signing him for the first time, the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday once again signed tight end Kevin Foelsch.

A former Division II star at New Haven, Foelsch initially joined the Steelers on July 29 but was let go last week. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Foelsch made some plays during camp practices at Saint Vincent but faces a stacked position room in which to make an impression.

Foelsch has not appeared in any NFL regular-season games but has spent time on the rosters of the Carolina Panthers, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.

Also signed Monday was Mikey Victor, a 6-3, 209-pound cornerback who spent last year’s training camp with the New England Patriots, totaling four tackles and a pass breakup in three preseason games. Victor finished his college career at Alabama State.

Foelsch and Victor take the roster spots of DJ Thomas-Jones and Cameron McCutcheon, respectively. Thomas-Jones, who was in part in camp as a fullback, was waived outright. McCutcheon, a cornerback, was waived/injured after suffering a hamstring ailment Saturday during the Steelers’ preseason opener in Jacksonville.
