Adding depth on the offensive line, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected Maryland tackle Derwin Gray with their final pick of the NFL Draft on Saturday.

Gray was the No. 219 overall player taken.

Gray, who is 6-foot-4, 320 pounds, primarily played left tackle for the Terrapins. He started three games as a sophomore, 12 times as a junior and 10 games as a senior. In his final two seasons, he was named an honorable mention all-conference player.

General manager Kevin Colbert said Gray will be given a chance to play tackle, but he also could be moved inside to guard.

The Steelers traded right tackle Marcus Gilbert to Arizona and will have Matt Feiler and 2018 third-round draft pick Chuks Okorafor competing for the starting job this season. Former fourth-round pick Jerald Hawkins is another tackle on the roster. Two-time Pro Bowl left tackle Alejandro Villanueva is the other starter.

“I’m willing to come in and learn as much as I can from these guys up front,” Gray said. “I’m a student of the game.”
