Steelers find another Eagles connection, agree to deal with swing tackle Le'Raven Clark
For a third time in free agency, the Pittsburgh Steelers are adding an offensive lineman with ties to the Philadelphia Eagles and their former vice president of player personnel, Andy Weidl.
The Steelers signed tackle Le’Raven Clark, who spent the 2022 season with the Tennessee Titans, to a one-year contract Friday.
Clark turns 30 in April and is a former third-round draft pick of the Indianapolis Colts. He spent the 2021 season with Philadelphia when Weidl, the Steelers assistant general manager, was employed by the Eagles.
With the Steelers, he will join former Eagles guards Isaac Seumalo and Nate Herbig, who were signed in the first week of free agency.
Clark has been a backup for his six-year NFL career, making just 18 starts while appearing in 64 games. Clark started twice last season for the Titans. He started one game the previous year in Philadelphia.
The Steelers return starters Dan Moore at left tackle and Chuks Okorafor at right tackle but they are in need of a backup swing tackle. Moore and Okorafor didn’t miss a snap last season. Trent Scott was one option at tackle, but he signed a free-agent deal with the Washington Commanders. Guard/tackle Jesse Davis, who also spent last season with the Steelers, remains a free agent.
