Steelers game against Jacksonville in 2020 season won't be played in London

If the Pittsburgh Steelers play an international game in the 2020 season, it won’t be against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jaguars confirmed Tuesday that they will play back-to-back home games in London next season, but said their games against the Steelers and Chicago Bears will be played at Jacksonville’s TIAA Bank Field.

That decision leaves the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions and Miami Dolphins as potential opponents for the Jaguars to face in London.

The NFL schedule won’t be released until April, but the dates of any international games could be revealed before then.

In addition to the game at Jacksonville, the Steelers will play road games against the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Tennessee Titans and Buffalo Bills, as well as divisional games at Cleveland, Cincinnati and Baltimore.

Team president Art Rooney said in January that the Steelers would “raise their hand” to play a game next season in Mexico City. The Jaguars’ announcement removes the most viable candidate from the equation.
