Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner (30) stiff arms Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback D.J. Hayden (25) while rushing for yardage during the second half of an NFL football game, Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020, in Jacksonville, Fla.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will have their starting running back available Sunday when they play the Buffalo Bills in a pivotal AFC matchup.

James Conner was activated from the reserve/covid-19 list Wednesday after missing games against Baltimore and Washington. He leads the Steelers with 645 yards rushing in 10 games.

Center Maurkice Pouncey is the only player remaining on the reserve/covid-19 list.

The Steelers are coming off a 23-17 loss to Washington in which they rushed for a season-low 21 yards on 14 carries, a 1.5-yard average.

The Steelers also signed veteran defensive end Cassius Marsh from the Indianapolis Colts practice squad. Marsh has played 91 games with nine starts in a career that began in 2014 with Seattle. He also played for New England, San Francisco and Arizona before spending time with Jacksonville and Indianapolis this season.

He has 14 sacks, five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries for his career.

With Robert Spillane dealing with a knee injury, the Steelers announced inside linebacker Ulysees Gilbert III can resume practicing Wednesday. Gilbert remains on injured reserve with a back ailment, and the Steelers have 21 days to activate him to the 53-man roster. Gilbert has played in two games this season, and his return would provide depth at inside linebacker. Vince Williams and Avery Williamson are the lone healthy inside linebackers on the active roster.
