CINCINNATI — David DeCastro’s name wasn’t on the list of players fined by the NFL on Saturday for “entering the fight area” in the Pittsburgh Steelers-Cleveland Browns brawl.

But the Steelers right guard received a $14,037 fine from the league for unsportsmanlike conduct, sources confirmed to the Tribune-Review.

That’s the seventh-highest fine of the 33 players who were punished during the Browns’ 21-7 victory over the Steelers on Nov. 14 at FirstEnergy Stadium.

DeCastro played peacemaker when Browns defensive end Myles Garrett and Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph scuffed in the final seconds, standing between them after Garrett pulled Rudolph’s helmet off.

When Garrett hit Rudolph in the head with his helmet, however, DeCastro took Garrett to the ground and was lying on top of him when Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey punched and kicked him in the end zone.

Garrett was suspended indefinitely and fined $45,623. He will miss the remainder of the regular season and playoffs. Browns defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi was suspended one game for shoving Rudolph and fined $10,527. Pouncey had his three-game suspension reduced to two games and was fined $35,096. Rudolph wasn’t suspended, but his $50,000 fine was the highest.

Browns defensive backs Damarious Randall and Greedy Williams both were fined $28,075 for unnecessary roughness for helmet hits that caused concussions, and Browns defensive end Chad Thomas $21,056 for a hit on Rudolph.

Both franchises received $250,000 fines.
