Steelers host son of Deion Sanders, 1st-round QB prospect Shedeur, for official draft visit
The son of Prime Time is in Pittsburgh.
Shedeur Sanders was a guest of the Pittsburgh Steelers as an official draft visitor to UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on Thursday. Sanders’ father is Pro Football Hall of Fame former cornerback Deion. Shedeur is considered a likely first-round pick in the April 24 NFL Draft.
Sitting at No. 21 overall, the Steelers have certainly done their homework on the quarterbacks who might be available at that spot or later in the draft. They also have hosted Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart and Louisville’s Tyler Shough, with Syracuse’s Kyle McCord expected to come to Pittsburgh as another of the allotted 30 maximum official visits permitted each team.
There are exemptions made for local prospects, and joining Sanders on Thursday at the Steelers’ headquarters on the South Side was safety Donovon McMillon, who played at Peters Township High School and Pitt.
The more I watch Shedeur Sanders, the more I’m confirmed we’re devaluing him because of the reputation of his father

While McMillon is considered a possibility for the late rounds, many draft media in recent months have projected Sanders as a top-five pick. A four-year college starter under his father as coach, Sanders played the past two seasons at Colorado after beginning his career at FCS Jackson State.
This past season, Sanders (6-foot-1, 212 pounds) was named Big 12 offensive player of the year after leading the nation with a 74.0% completion rate and setting school passing records with 37 touchdowns and 4,134 yards.

McMillon (6-2, 205) helped Peters Township to a pair of WPIAL championship games and spent his first two college seasons at Florida. He became a starter over 2023 and 2024 at Pitt, becoming the first Pitt player to record consecutive 100-tackle seasons in more than 15 years.
Known as “Prime Time,” Deion Sanders became a sensation after starring at Florida State in the late ’80s, later winning Super Bowls with San Francisco and Dallas as well as playing Major League Baseball.
