Steelers in bottom half of NFL in betting odds for winning next year’s Super Bowl
This year’s Super Bowl has yet to be played. But that doesn’t mean sports books aren’t already taking bets on next year’s game. And Pittsburgh Steelers fans might not like where their team has been initially slotted into the NFL hierarchy.
Ranked from most likely to least likely to win Super Bowl LVI, the Steelers are in the bottom half of the odds provided Wednesday by BetOnline.ag. Only 14 of the league’s other 31 teams have worse odds of winning next season’s Super Bowl than the Steelers (33-to-1).
The Steelers are tied with the Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts at that number in the BetOnline list, just ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles (40-to-1) and just behind the Tennessee Titans (28-to-1).
The Kansas City Chiefs are by far the favorite to win next year’s Super Bowl at 5-to-1. The Chiefs won last year’s game and play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in this year’s Super Bowl on Sunday. Four teams are tied for the next-best odds (12-to-1): the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams and Bucs.
Among the Steelers’ AFC North rivals, the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns are tied with the Miami Dolphins and Seattle Seahawks with the sixth-best odds at 20-to-1. The Cincinnati Bengals are tied with four other teams for the NFL’s worst odds of winning the 2021 season’s Super Bowl. They are at 75-to-1 along with the Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets.
Just prior to Week 1 of this past regular season, the Steelers were in the top 10 of odds to win this Super Bowl. They started the season 11-0 but lost five of their final six, including to the Browns in a wild-card playoff game last month.
