For the first time during the regular season, the Pittsburgh Steelers starting offensive tackles were together for a full practice Wednesday.
Chuks Okorafor was designated as a full participant on the injury report for the first time since entering NFL concussion protocol during the Sept. 26 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Okoafor missed last week’s loss at the Green Bay Packers.
Zach Banner returned to practice last week. Though Banner remains on injured reserve late in his recovery from a torn ACL, center Kendrick Green said Banner “has been working his butt off” and is “coming along pretty well.”
“He’s been out here doing football movements, trying to get right,” Green said after Wednesday’s practice. “I think today he looked pretty well. He did well in his one-on-one reps.”
The news was not all good in regards to injuries involving the Steelers’ starting offensive linemen. Guards Trai Turner (illness) and Kevin Dotson (hip) were limited and out of practice, respectively. Backup guard Rashaad Coward returned to practice in a limited capacity for the first time since suffering an ankle injury last week.
Starting receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster (ribs) and Chase Claypool (hamstring) were limited Wednesday. Claypool did not play in Green Bay, but Smith-Schuster did after leaving the Bengals game because of injury.
Cornerback Cameron Sutton did not practice because of a groin injury, defensive captain Cameron Heyward was limited because of a neck injury and reserve defensive lineman Carlos Davis remains out because of a knee injury. Davis has not played since Week 1.
