Steelers injury report: Alex Highsmith, Damontae Kazee cleared; Montravius Adams questionable
Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Alex Highsmith and safety Damontae Kazee have been cleared to return to action, but Montravius Adams apparently suffered a knee injury Friday and is questionable to play against the New York Jets on Sunday.
Adams was a surprise addition to the official league-mandated injury report Friday, getting a “limited participation” designation. He joins rookie receiver Roman Wilson as those on the active roster whose statuses are in doubt for “Sunday Night Football” at Acrisure Stadium.
Wilson (hamstring) was added to the injury report Thursday and was limited at practice that day and Friday.
Highsmith has missed the past three games because of a groin injury, and Kazee sat out last week’s victory in Las Vegas because of an ankle ailment. Also returning to game play Sunday is reserve tight end MyCole Pruitt, who has missed the past four games because of a knee injury.
As has been expected all week, returner/running back Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle), outside linebacker Nick Herbig (hamstring) and center Zach Frazier (ankle) will not play versus New York. None practiced in any capacity this week.
Also listed as out is reserve offensive tackle Dylan Cook, who began practicing this week after beginning the season on injured reserve because of a foot injury.
