Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Darius Slay chases Cincinnati Bengals receiver Andrei Iosivas during the Oct.16 game in Cincinnati. Slay practiced fully Wednesday after missing this past Sunday’s game against the Bengals because of a concussion.

Veteran cornerback Darius Slay made it through a full practice Wednesday for the first time since suffering a concussion 10 days prior, according to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ league-mandated injury report.

Slay remains in NFL concussion protocol, but that he has advanced to practicing fully is an indication he can and will be cleared well in advance of Sunday’s game at the Chicago Bears. After suffering his injury during the Nov. 9 loss at the Los Angeles Chargers, Slay was replaced by James Pierre for the remainder of that contest in addition to this past Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Also missing that game were starting outside linebacker Alex Highsmith (pectoral) and reserve inside linebacker Cole Holcomb (illness). Highsmith remains out of practice, but Holcomb did practice fully Wednesday.

Starting running back Jaylen Warren left the win against the Bengals early because of an ankle injury, and he did not practice Wednesday.

Left guard Isaac Seumalo played the entirety of the Cincinnati game but missed the game in Los Angeles because of a lingering pectoral injury. He was a limited practice participant Wednesday, but that is not atypical for the 10-year veteran. Veterans Jonnu Smith, T.J. Watt and Cameron Heyward each were given the day off.

Also in concussion protocol is receiver/returner Ke’Shawn Williams, who was listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday.

Starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers, as expected, sat out practice because of his left wrist fracture.
