Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Samuels carries the ball in the first half a Week 1 game at the New England Patriots.

Jaylen Samuels and James Washington were on the practice field Wednesday, and each of the injured skill-position weapons for the Pittsburgh Steelers offense expressed optimism he is progressing well in his return from an injury.

Samuels, a running back, confirmed that he did individual drills; Washington, a wide receiver said he “did everything” during what is the second of five practices this week heading into Monday night’s home game against the Miami Dolphins.

Washington missed the Steelers’ win at the Los Angeles Chargers the week prior to their idle week.

“It feels great,” Washington said of his injured shoulder. “Got the best training staff in the league, I feel like… The bye week hit perfectly.”

Samuels also missed the Chargers game after undergoing a procedure on his knee in the days following the Week 5 loss to Baltimore.

“I started running over the weekend and starting cutting (Tuesday),” Samuels said, “and I did a little individual (work) today. It felt good. Just taking it day by day, just trying to not take any steps back.”
