Steelers’ JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Conner out vs. Cardinals; Mark Barron will play
What was known all week became official Friday when the Pittsburgh Steelers ruled JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Conner out of Sunday’s game at the Arizona Cardinals.
Running back Conner if out for the fifth time over the past six weeks because of a shoulder injury suffered late during an Oct. 28 win. Wide receiver Smith-Schuster will miss a third consecutive game because of a knee injury suffered during a Nov. 14 loss at Cleveland.
Smith-Schuster has yet to take to the practice field since his injury other than running on his own. Conner did scout-team work this week.
Inside linebacker Mark Barron will play against the Cardinals despite being limited in practice Friday because of a knee injury. The only other player who missed any practice time this week for an unplanned reason was rookie receiver Diontae Johnson. He was limited Wednesday but will play Sunday after practicing the past two days.
