Steelers move Monday practice to Latrobe Memorial Stadium, open to public

Monday’s Pittsburgh Steelers training-camp practice was moved from Saint Vincent College to Latrobe Memorial Stadium, the team announced early Monday morning.

The session will begin, as scheduled, at 1:55 p.m. and is open to the public. No ticket will be required for entry.

The fields at Saint Vincent remain soggy following Friday’s heavy rainstorm that passed through the area. Chuck Noll Field — the primary field with bleachers where the Steelers typically focus their practices — was covered with a tarp Friday but water built up around the edges of the fields, which are situated in a low-lying area of campus.

Late Friday, some Saint Vincent parking lots, roadways and grassy areas were under several inches of water. The Unity campus is closed to the public Monday.

Monday’s practice at Latrobe Memorial Stadium comes three days after the annual “Friday Night Lights” session scheduled for the facility was canceled in light of the weather conditions. The 2020 and 2021 training camps were held in Pittsburgh out of concerns related to the coronavirus pandemic.
