It looks like Mike Munchak will be staying around to coach the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line.

Munchak was a finalist for the Denver Broncos’ coaching vacancy, but ESPN and NFL Network reported Wednesday afternoon that Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio will get the job.

Munchak, 58, has coached the Steelers offensive line for the past five seasons and has worked with Pro Bowl players Maurkice Pouncey, David DeCastro and Alejandro Villanueva. All three have credited Munchak’s influence as having a positive impact on their careers.

Munchak was coach of the Tennessee Titans from 2011-13 before joining the Steelers. He was interested in the Broncos job because his daughter lives in Denver.

The Broncos reportedly narrowed their choices to Munchak and Fangio, who received a four-year contract with a team option for a fifth, according to ESPN.
