Tidbits: Jones was an Associated Press first-team SEC selection at offensive tackle in 2022, when he started all 15 games at left tackle during Georgia’s run to their second consecutive national title. … As a redshirt freshman during the 2021 season, Jones started the final four regular-season games for what was also a College Football Playoff national champion team. … Jones was a five-star recruit in the 2020 class who took a redshirt during his first season on campus. … According to the 247 composite rankings, Jones was the No. 11 recruit in the country and second-best among offensive tackles in his high school graduating class. ESPN ranked Jones the No. 9 prospect nationally and No. 1 offensive tackle. … Among all offensive linemen who ran the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, Jones had the fastest time (4.97 seconds). … At 14th overall, Jones is the second-highest Steelers draft pick since Ben Roethlisberger was taken 11th in 2004.
