Stats: As a junior this past season had 58 tackles, 12 1/2 for loss with 8 1/2 sacks, and two pass breakups in 12 starts. Was second on Texas A&M in QB hurries during both his freshman and sophomore seasons.

Tidbits: Was an AP and Sporting News first-team All America pick and all-SEC selection by both coaches and media in 2021 when he tied for fifth in the SEC with 8 ½ sacks and tied for ninth with 12 ½ tackles for loss, both team highs. … A two-time defensive MVP at Texas A&M. … This past season, was a finalist for the Ted Hendricks Award as the nation’s top defensive end. … Is considered undersized for an NFL defensive linemen but said he has not been asked to add weight nor thinks he needs to. … Played end and tackle in college. … Became the third Texas A&M player the Steelers took over a span of nine draft picks, joining 2021 third-rounder Dan Moore Jr. and 2021 fourth-rounder Buddy Johnson. … This is the highest the Steelers have drafted a defensive lineman since Stephon Tuitt was taken at No. 46 overall in 2014. Javon Hargrave was a third-round choice in 2016 at 89th overall.
