The Pittsburgh Steelers will be staying stateside in 2020.

The Arizona Cardinals on Friday announced that they will shift one of their home games this season in order to be the “host team” in Mexico City.

Steelers president Art Rooney II had previously said the Steelers would “raise their hand” to play in Mexico – but the Cardinals are not one of the opponents the Steelers are playing this season.

The NFL’s four-game London slate was previously announced – and the Steelers also were left out of those games. Though the Steelers are to play a road game at the Jacksonville Jaguars this fall and the Jaguars are the “home” team for two games in London, that organization announced that its home games against the Steelers and Chicago Bears will remain at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville.

The Atlanta Falcons and Miami Dolphins also will “host” games in London, but the Steelers are not on those teams’ home schedules.

In addition to the game at Jacksonville, the Steelers in 2020 will play road games against the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Tennessee Titans and Buffalo Bills, as well as divisional games at Cleveland, Cincinnati and Baltimore.

The Steelers most recently played outside the United States when they faced the Minnesota Vikings as the “visiting team” in London in 2013.

The complete NFL schedule with dates of games is typically announced in April.

The Steelers have long cultivated a fanbase in Mexico and are willing to play a game there as the “visiting” team.
