Steelers promote S Elijah Riley for game vs. Raiders; CB Josh Jackson released
In an indication that starting strong safety Terrell Edmunds will be inactive with a hamstring injury, the Steelers promoted safety Elijan Riley from the practice squad Saturday, making him eligible to play tonight against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Riley will appear in his second game with the Steelers this season. He also played against Tampa Bay in Week 6.
The Steelers also released cornerback Josh Jackson, who started against Tampa Bay because of injuries throughout the secondary. Jackson had appeared in four games with the Steelers this season but he was inactive the past five weeks.
If Edmunds doesn’t play, the Steelers could start Damontae Kazee at strong safety.
