Steelers RB Benny Snell reportedly out 2-3 weeks after knee surgery

It has been known Pittsburgh Steelers rookie running back Benny Snell suffered a knee injury during Monday’s 27-14 win against the Miami Dolphins.

Now details are coming out. According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, Snell had surgery to repair a meniscus. That could keep him sidelined two to three weeks.

If that scenario proves true, he would miss games against the Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Rams and Cleveland Browns. Then there is a long lull before the next game against Cincinnati on Nov. 24.

The Steelers are hurting at running back. Starter James Conner also injured his shoulder and is a question mark for this week’s game against the Colts.

If Conner can’t suit up, Jaylen Samuels will start. And he needed a knee scope after the loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Oct. 6 and missed the past two games.

Snell has 118 yards on 28 carries this season.
