Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Tuzar Skipper sacks Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Ryan Griffin in the fourth quarter of an Aug. 9 preseason game.

The Pittsburgh Steelers signed passrushing specialist Tuzar Skipper for two more seasons, and they formally kept all 11 of their practice-squad players on the day after their season ended.

Skipper started and finished the season on the Steelers’ 53-man roster after making the team following a rookie minicamp tryout. He had five sacks in four preseason games, but the Steelers lost him when they tried to slip him through waivers prior to the Week 1 game.

Skipper spent two months with the New York Giants, playing special teams in six games, before landing back on their practice squad. The Steelers signed him off of it and on to their active roster Nov. 19.

Skipper did not appear in any games the rest of the season, but the Steelers re-signing him so quickly could signal that he is potentially part of their future at outside linebacker.

Also Monday, the entire season-ending practice squad was locked up for the offseason. The most notable names among those signed are former Pitt star receiver/returner Quadree Henderson and former Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett.

Also signed to reserve/future deal is British tight end Christian Scotland-Williamson, who spent the past two seasons with the Steelers as part of the NFL’s International Pathways program.

Others signed include receiver Jamal Custis, cornerback Alexander Myres, running back Ralph Webb, safety Tray Matthews, tight end Kevin Rader, defensive lineman Henry Mondeaux and offensive tackles Christian DiLauro and Derwin Gray.
